CLASS 10TH QUESTION ANSWER A LETTER TO GOD

CLASS 10TH QUESTION ANSWER A LETTER TO GOD

THINKING ABOUT THE TEXT

Question 1.

Who does Lencho have complete faith in? Which sentences in the story tell you this?

Answer:

Lencho has full faith in God as he is instructed that God knows everything and helps us with our problems. There are some sentences that show this

• But in the hearts of all who lived in that lonely house in the middle of the valley, the only hope was help from God.

• All night, Lencho thought of only one hope: the help of God, with whose eyes, as he was instructed, see everything, even what is in one's conscience.

• "God", he wrote, "if you don't help me, my family and I will starve this year".

• He wrote 'For God' on the envelope, put the letter inside and still went to town in dismay.

• God could do no wrong, nor could He refuse Lencho what He requested.

Question 2.Why does the postmaster send money to Lencho? Why does he sign the letter God?

Answer:To keep Lencho's faith in God alive, the postmaster sent money to Lencho. When he read Lencho's letter he became serious and wished that he had the same faith in God. ... he signed 'God' so that Lencho's faith would not be shaken.

Question 3.Did Lencho try to find out who had sent the money to him? Why or why not?

Answer: No, Lencho did not try to find out who sent him the money. Because he had a very strong belief in God and thought that no one except God would send money to help him

Question 4.Who does Lencho think has taken the rest of the money? What is the irony in the situation? (Remember that the irony of a situation is an unexpected aspect of it. An ironic situation is strange or amusing because it is the opposite of what is expected).

Answer:

Lencho thinks that the post office staff has taken the rest of the money because he had demanded hundred pesos from God and the letter contained only seventy pesos and God cannot do such a mistake. So, he believes that they stole the money.

The irony in this situation is that Lencho becomes suspicious of those who helped him with his problem and tries to keep his faith in God alive.

Question 5.Are there people like Lencho in the real world? What kind of person would you say he is? You can select the appropriate words from the box to answer the question.

•Greedy

• Clumsy

•Idiot

•ungrateful

•Selfish

• Comic

• Do not question

Answer:

It is almost impossible to find a person like Lencho because he is an unassuming and naive kind of person. He is not a fool if he does not know who sent him the money or a letter will reach God without an address. This is Lencho's belief in God. In the real world, people are selfish and greedy and Lencho is totally cute and aloof.

Question 6.
There are two kinds of conflict in the story between humans and nature and between humans themselves. How are these conflicts illustrated?

Answer:

Conflict between man and nature: The conflict between man and nature is depicted by hailstorm destroying the Lencho crop as Lencho was expecting good rain for a good harvest as it was his only hope for earning. He worked so hard to feed his family, but nature turned violent and destroyed everything.

Conflict between humans and humans: The story also portrayed another conflict, between humans as the postmaster himself, with his friends and servants, Lencho, with his friends and servants, sent money asking for God, although he did not know Lencho. Lencho accused him of carrying some amount. He called them "a bunch of scoundrels". This shows that the human does not have faith in the other human being, from which this conflict arises.
